GOALS FOR PRE KINDERGARTEN

 

Spiritual

•    Feel secure in God’s love and care

•    Use the terms Jesus and God with understanding

•    Express their love for Jesus

•    Choose to love and obey

•    Know that prayer is “talking to God” and begin to say their own prayers


Intellectual

•    Learn to say the names of others and know who they are

•    Learn to recognize 6 basic shapes-circle, square, rectangle, triangle, diamond, oval

•    Learn to recognize 8 primary colors-red, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, black, and brown

•    Learn to recognize their own name

•    Continue to reinforce numbers and letters


Physical

•    Develop accuracy with throwing and catching

•    Use fingers and hands skillfully

•    Learn simple movements to music: slide step, two step, marching, slide and hop, etc.


Social

•    Using their words to communicate

•    How to care for our friends

•    Using gentle hands in all that we do

•     Learn to play cooperatively, take turns, share ideas, etc..

•    Express needs and feelings with words                                                                                                 

•    Help clean up cooperatively

•    Use  play materials correctly


Emotional

•    Use words to express feelings and injuries

•    Learn basic emotions;  sad, happy, hurt, angry, sleepy, etc.

•    Know Jesus loves them unconditionally

•    Know the teachers love them unconditionally

•    Know parents love them unconditionally

•    Develop strong sense of security in themselves
